Weekend at the Triangle

Young men and women enjoying a party
Cheers to the weekend!

You’ve counted down the hours, and finally the weekend is here. But if you don’t have any plans yet, here’s a quick little itinerary for the Research Triangle Park area in NC:

FRIDAY

Welcome the weekend!
Put another long week behind you with an invigorating drink at the Raleigh Brewing Company. Be sure to try “The Miller’s Toll,” a 9.1% ABV oatmeal stout that won bronze at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival.

SATURDAY

Fuel up
What better way to kick off the weekend (and wean off last night’s buzz) than a great big breakfast. And if it’s a hearty breakfast you’re after, there’s no better place than Brigham’s Great Beginnings in Raleigh. They concoct new omelets and sandwich recipes each month, so there’s always something here to tickle your taste buds.

Commune with nature
Clear your mind and recharge your spirit by exploring the American Tobacco Trail in Durham. It’s 22-mile trail cuts through tree canopies and woodlands, and provides an occasional view of the farm fields and houses in the surrounding area. You can explore this trail by foot, bike, horseback, or even with your dogs.

SUNDAY

Shop your heart out
There’s no better therapy than retail therapy. Luckily, downtown Carrboro in Chapel Hill is a shopper’s delight. Here you can find stationery stores, vinyl record shops, cafes, art supply retailers, and many more nifty boutiques.

Seek out inspiration
A visit to the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh will surely enliven your creative muse. Its permanent collection features work from antiquity to the present day. There’s also a 164-acre art park that boasts awe-inspiring outdoor installations.
