Lonnie Poole Golf Course
Those looking to test their golfing skills should definitely check out the Lonnie Poole Golf Course. Its lush landscaping and postcard-perfect views belie the challenging terrain that will surely test even the most experienced golfers. While it might be a tad hard on players, it’s definitely kind to Mother Earth, thanks to its many eco-friendly features.
Falls Village Golf Club
You might find yourself distracted by the sheer beauty of this range. The 18-hole championship course winds through pine and hardwood trees, and the rolling terrain is straight out of a golfing magazine. Tees range from 5,262 yards to 7,072, making it an ideal course for players of all skill levels. After a day of “putting” in your best, wind down and socialize at the golf course’s well-stocked bar.

Duke Golf Club
You know a course is good if it was a one-time host to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship. There’s plenty here to impress golfers, from the driving range, to the putting and chipping greens, to the eight target greens. What’s more, hotel guests and residents of the Triangle receive a nice discount when using the range. Be sure to book a session early, though – at least 14 days ahead.
Lakeshore Golf Course
True to its name, this fairway sits on the lip of a 30-acre lake, making it a truly stunning place. Opened in 1962, the 18-hole course is still owned and operated by the same family that started it. It’s also located close to the rest of the Triangle, which means Raleigh and Chapel Hill residents have easy access to it as well.

UNC Finley Golf Course
If there’s one word to describe this fairway, it would be “secluded.” UNC Finley sits smack in the middle of Chapel Hill, and was designed by Architect Tom Fazio. While it’s something of a hidden gem, it has plenty to be proud of. The championship course has scenic views and has a diverse range that makes it popular with neophytes and pros alike.
Twin Lakes Golf Course
Opened in 1961 and designed by the venerable John K. Wilkins, this nine-hole golf course in Chapel Hill is a must-visit for golfers. Its longest tees stretch 6,152 yards, and it has a slope rating of 122. It has tees for three different skill levels. The lakeside view makes it an even more memorable place to play in.
