Nearby, the Carolina Hurricanes play at the PNC Arena, which is also the site of many performances by famed artists.

Raleigh is home to North Carolina State University (NCSU), which is consistently ranked highly by U.S. News & World Report and Princeton Review for its outstanding research and educational opportunities, as well as a number of other colleges and universities such as Meredith College, Peace University and Shaw University. It is also home to many established private prep schools including Cardinal Gibbons and St. Mary’s.
