With a population of more than 245,000, Durham is one of the primary cultural, educational and commercial centers of the Research Triangle area. Two prestigious universities, Duke University and North Carolina Central University, as well as an esteemed hospital (Duke Medical Center) call the city of Durham home.

Durham is part of the Durham-Chapel Hill Metropolitan Area, which consists of four counties. You can also stretch your legs and take scenic and historic walks at the campuses of Duke and NCCU or at the numerous state and regional parks all over Durham. Durham is also home to The Streets of Southpoint, one of the Triangle’s most popular shopping destinations. If you’re into sports, you’ll surely enjoy a night at the park with the Durham Bulls.
